'Historic Texas Map Exhibit'    at National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame

TCU's Center for Texas Studies is partnering with the Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross State University in Alpine to produce "Going to Texas: Five Centuries of Texas Maps," an exhibit consisting of 64 historic Texas maps that will travel around the state for a period of two years, beginning on November 2, 2007 at the Old Red Museum in Dallas, and ending on January 15, 2010 at the Cowgirl Museum in Fort Worth. The exhibit, featuring maps dating from 1548 to 2006, will also travel to Panhandle Plains Museum in Canyon in March 2008, Museum of the Southwest in Midland in May 2008, Mayborn Museum in Waco in July 2008, Museum of South Texas History in Edinburg in September 2008, Texas Tech Museum in Lubbock in November 2008, Centennial Museum in El Paso in March 2009, and the Old Jail Museum in Albany in June 2009.
