With 3,600 acres of forest, prairie and wetlands, Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge offers over 20 miles of hiking trails and access to such wildlife as bison and bobcats, numerous bird species, monarch butterflies and a rich array of flora and fauna. One of the largest city-owned nature centers in the United States, the center offers an array of educational opportunities, including a well-staffed interpretive center. It is located just inside the Fort Worth city limits, ten miles northwest of downtown, near Lake Worth.
Open Oct - Apr: daily 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; May - Sep: Mon. - Fri. 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.; Sat. - Sun. 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
